Apostolic & Sold Out

Powerhouse Radio Network

Today we are going to start our PowerCast out by reading Hebrews 11, or the Bible’s “Hall of Faith!” I refer to them as Apostolic & Sold Out! It is here we find men like Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Heroes of faith like Moses, Enoch, and Noah who dared to step up in the crowd and live out their faith in our One True Living God.

Hebrews 11:32-38 And what more shall I say? For the time will fail me if I tell of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, of David and Samuel and the prophets. 33 Through faith, they conquered kingdoms, administered justice, gained what was promised, shut the mouths of lions, 34 quenched raging fire, escaped the edge of the sword, gained strength in weakness, became mighty in battle, put foreign armies to flight, 35 and women received back their dead raised to life. But others were tortured, not accepting release, to obtain resurrection to a better life. 36 And others experienced mocking and flogging, and even chains and imprisonment. 37 They were stoned, sawed apart, murdered with the sword; they went about in sheepskins and goatskins; destitute, afflicted, ill-treated 38 (the world was not worthy of them); they wandered in deserts and mountains and caves and openings in the earth.

Intro

woodSaints, these men, and women lived life on the edge. They lived their lives unashamedly to make a difference in a world consumed in chaos, Apostolic & Sold Out!” So, today on Apostolic Talkin we will discuss what it means to be Apostolic & Sold Out!” Jesus did not call any of us to be a cloak & dagger Christian. We are called to be “Apostolic & Sold Out!”

Luke 24:47 and repentance for the forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

It is important to realize that Jesus commissions us to go teach repentance in His name to all nations. I must admit, I would love to see 10 Holy Ghost filled Apostolics bombard my mountain with this Acts 2:38message. 10 “Apostolic & Sold Out” Saints that would turn Sand Mountain into Apostolic Mountain. Just imagine what could happen to our city, our mountain, our country, this world if every Christian were to get “Apostolic & Sold Outabout what this Apostles Doctrine!

Compromise No #1

To emphasize my point, I will share with you today 5 Commanding No’s. Which I call “The Outspoken Apostolic’s list to keep us from satanic compromise! The first satanic compromise that Joseph said “NO” to is sexual compromise.

Genesis 39:2-4 The Lord was with Joseph. He was successful and lived in the household of his Egyptian master. 3 His master observed that the Lord was with him and that the Lord made everything he was doing successful. 4 So Joseph found favor in his sight and became his personal attendant. Potiphar appointed Joseph overseer of his household and put him in charge of everything he owned.

6b-10 Now Joseph was well-built and good-looking. 7 Soon after these things, his master’s wife took notice of Joseph and said, “Come to bed with me.” 8 But he refused, saying to his master’s wife, “Look, my master does not give any thought to his household with me here, and everything that he owns he has put into my care. 9 There is no one greater in this household than I am. He has withheld nothing from me except you because you are his wife. So how could I do such a great evil and sin against God?” 10 Even though she continued to speak to Joseph day after day, he did not respond to her invitation to go to bed with her.

Right-Hand Man

Joseph moved from slave to Potiphar’s right-hand man. This position was second only to Potiphar himself. Not only was he built, but he was also a good-looking as well. The “school of hard knocks” had finally paid off.

The backstory of Joseph is that he was the son of Jacob. Now Jacob was an overprotective father, showing favoritism toward Joseph. Jacob did what I consider a mistake by showing more love for Joseph than his other sons. This seemed to make Joseph cocky!

An example that attests to his somewhat of a superiority complex was his famous “coat of many colors. As Joseph wore this gift from his dad, his brothers became jealous. In his brother’s eyes, Joseph was nothing but a brown-nosing tattletale. Strutting around showing off his new bling like he owned the place! Eventually, his brothers had their full of this arrogant little dreamer.

It was while the brothers were out tending the flocks that the opportunity arose to give Joseph an attitude change. Jacob had sent Joseph to check on his brothers. When Joseph arrived that his brothers tossed him into a pit. And then the discussion began on what to do with father’s little chosen one! One brother wanted to kill him, while another wanted to sell him as a slave to the approaching Egyptian caravan.

The 10 brothers agreed to sell him off and to fake his death. They deceived their father and convince him that a wild animal killed Joseph. So they ripped and bloodied up his fancy coat and presented it as proof to their father. Joseph. now separated from everything he knew. At only 17 or 18, he was on his way to a foreign country as a slave.

School of Hard Knocks

Suddenly, Joseph found himself enrolled in the school of hard knocks”! The lesson of slavery was the first in a series of lessons that God would use to transform Joseph into a mighty man of God. Church, it rains on the just and the unjust. More times than not, it takes trials and tribulations to form us into mighty men and women of God. If you and I truly want to be “Apostolic & Sold Out we can not let any setback detour our faith in God.

As we continue with our lesson, we find Joseph arriving in Egypt. He was now a lowly slave with no money to his name. But he had the one thing that mattered, God was with him. So this “Apostolic & Sold Out young man is now Potiphar’s slave. But it wasn’t long before he became his right-hand man. Here is a friendly warning. When God promotes you, the evil one will bomb you with attacks to destroy your commitment.

As we continue with our lesson, we find Joseph fulfilling his duties, when Potiphar’s wife takes notice of this Hebrew hunk of a man. Little miss Potiphar was unhappy with her marriage. Day after day, she turned on the charm, trying to seduce Joseph. She became very blunt with Joseph, after refusing her advances. Flat out commanding Joseph “Come to bed with me!”

Candid Moment

Saints, the “Outspoken Apostolic” will be very candid here. I do not know too many young single 20-year-old men who could say no to such a request. Joseph, being the beef-cake that he was, has the run of the palace. Being in his 20s, his hormones had to be kicking in high gear. Then you have a good-looking older woman, a cougar who wants to jump his bones every day of the week.

A point often overlooked is that most men would have proclaimed their ship had arrived. Believing that all that they had been through. This must be a reward for their past troubles. What I am admitting to you Saints, Beelzebub had launched the rocket of compromise that few 20-year-olds could avoid. But Joseph was not your normal 20-year-old.

Joseph was a spirit-filled Child of God, who I like to refer to as “Apostolic & Sold Out!” How do I know this, you may ask? Well, his love for God and his commitment to living a holy life. Satan had little Miss Potiphar throwing sexual advances at him as if the world was about to end. But Joseph stood his righteous ground blocking all of Satan’s bombs. “And though she asked day after day, Joseph refused to go to bed with her or even be with her.”

INTEGRITY & PURITY

That is what “Apostolic & Sold Out” means. INTEGRITY, PURITY is essential in our Christian walk. Joseph is a living example of what we should do when temptation bombs us. Our commitment to God must never waiver. That nasty roaring lion will test your commitment. “How could I do such an unrighteous thing and transgress against Jesus Christ?”

Although Joseph had a strong commitment to the Lord, Potiphar still had him tossed in jail. What about you? When Satan’s commitment bombs come your way, will you stand your righteous ground? Take this entire world, but give me Jesus! “Apostolic & Sold Out!”

Compromise No #2

The number 2 compromise on the Outspoken Apostolic’s list to keep us from satanic compromise is Shadrach, Meshach, & Abednego. Our heroes said “No” to peer pressure!

Daniel 3:13-18 Then Nebuchadnezzar in a fit of rage demanded that they bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego before him. So they brought them before the king. 14 Nebuchadnezzar said to them, “Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, that you don’t serve my gods and that you don’t pay homage to the golden statue that I erected? 15 Now if you are ready, when you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, trigon, harp, pipes, and all kinds of music, you must bow down and pay homage to the statue that I had made. If you don’t pay homage to it, you will immediately be thrown into the midst of the furnace of blazing fire. Now, who is that god who can rescue you from my power?”

16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego replied to King Nebuchadnezzar, “We do not need to give you a reply concerning this. 17 If our God whom we are serving exists, he is able to rescue us from the furnace of blazing fire, and he will rescue us, O king, from your power as well. 18 But if he does not, let it be known to you, O king, that we don’t serve your gods, and we will not pay homage to the golden statue that you have erected.”.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego

As we continue our look into what it means to be “Apostolic & Sold Out” we find three heroes living as captives in the Babylonian Empire. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were “Apostolic & Sold Out!” Despite living in a heathen nation. King Nebuchadnezzar had his loyal subjects make him an image of gold, an idol ninety feet high and nine feet wide.

With the idol completed, King Nebuchadnezzar gathered all of his subjects. He proclaimed, “I have a proclamation: from this moment on, this is your god! When you hear the music play everyone in the kingdom will bow down and worship their new god. Isn’t he handsome? I know he looks like me, but it will be fantastic. Oh, and another thing, anyone who refuses to fall and worship our new extremely handsome god will immediately be thrown into a blazing furnace.

So at the appointed time, the music played. The entire kingdom bowed down in honor of their golden god. Everyone, that is, but our three heroes of faith. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, the only ones left standing. Our heroes knew that Jehovah God said, “You shall have no other gods before me”. So they refused to bow. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego are “Apostolic & Sold Out”!

Daniel 3:13-18 Then Nebuchadnezzar in a fit of rage demanded that they bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego before him. So they brought them before the king.

Temper Tantrum

We see that Nebuchadnezzar was having a tantrum. I can just see him doing his best Rock imitation. “Boys, I don’t think you smell what the King is cooking! I am without a doubt. Thee… MOST electrifying king on the planet today! Now, I will give you one more chance. I will strike up the band just for you guys! Because I can promise you boys, you don’t want to be tossed in my furnace. I expect you to bow to your new god. Because you don’t want to go One on One with the Great One?

Church, our heroes of faith, stood nose to nose with the old Nebuchadnezzar. Each man full of Apostolic power of the Holy Ghost. “It will not happen, Kingy Wingy”! We will not bow down and worship a false god, even if the entire world is doing it. Our God is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and end, the first and the last. He is the Great I am. There is nothing that you can say or do that will make us bow down to anything or anyone but Jehovah God.

We may lose our land. We’ve lost our freedom. But King old buddy, WE WILL NOT BOW OUR KNEE TO ANY OTHER! Let’s start this party and crank up the heat BABY. Because we are letting you know ‘There is only one God!’”

Apostolic Mountain Logo Sand Mountain AlabamaApostolic Mountain

NO COMPROMISE Saints! It doesn’t matter if the entire world is bowing down. It doesn’t matter if the whole city goes to that building to worship. If you are the only one in the Sanctuary, you stay standing in this Apostolic Church! STAND FOR THE TRUTH! There is only ONE LORD, ONE FAITH, & ONE BAPTISM! Don’t follow the crowd Saints, take a stand for Jesus! The One True Living God! Apostolic & Sold Out!”

The Prince of Darkness wants you to bow your knee and break your commitment to the King of Heaven. Ask yourself this, when the pressure is on, do you have what it takes to make a stand for Jesus? Apostolic Mountain’s within our grasp if we will refuse to bow to this godless society. Why don’t we make up our minds and refuse to be a part of this nasty world?. Why don’t we become Apostolic & Sold Out”?

SHADRACH, MESHACH, AND ABEDNEGO SAID “NO” TO PEER PRESSURE… AND THEY THREW THEM INTO A FIERY FURNACE. Are you so full of Jesus that you’ll do the right thing no matter what? It’s time to turn up the heat & become Apostolic & Sold Out”!

Compromise No #3

The number 3 compromise on the Outspoken Apostolic’s list to keep us from satanic compromise is Daniel. He said “NO” to a government-issued order that went against his religious beliefs.

Daniel 6:6-11 So these supervisors and satraps came by collusion to the king and said to him, “O King Darius, live forever! 7 To all the supervisors of the kingdom, the prefects, satraps, counselors, and governors, it seemed like a good idea for a royal edict to be issued and an interdict to be enforced. For the next thirty days anyone who prays to any god or human other than you, O king, should be thrown into a den of lions. 8 Now let the king issue a written interdict so that it cannot be altered, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which cannot be changed.”

9 So King Darius issued the written interdict. 10 When Daniel realized that a written decree had been issued, he entered his home, where the windows in his upper room opened toward Jerusalem. Three times daily he was kneeling and offering prayers and thanks to his God, just as he had been accustomed to doing previously. 11 Then those officials who had gone to the king came by collusion and found Daniel praying and asking for help before his God.

Extraordinary Faith

It’s a similar scene to the two I’ve already shared. Our hero of faith, Daniel, is being held captive in a foreign land. Daniel was a God-fearing, honorable man who was exalted because of his extraordinary faith! Daniel’s faith had caught the attention of Satan, causing him to use King Darius to test him with a commitment bomb! See Saints, Daniel was the King’s favorite advisor. And because of this, the other advisors were jealous. So they schemed to frame Daniel.

After a while these snakes in the grass came up with an idea: They would create a scenario that would place Daniel in a position of compromise. They knew that Daniel was a warrior of faith with strong religious convictions.

These sneaky, despicable executives took advantage of the King’s pride. And King Darius, he took the bait, hook, line, and sinker. Here is a little tidbit for you, Church! Do you know how to destroy a nation? You do it by giving them a pagan leader. One with a huge ego and surround him with deep state followers.

These snakes have a way of re-writing the laws. Not to mention changing the history books. Saints, imagine if you will, being told you can’t pray to Jesus! That you have to pray to the country’s leader. I know you tell yourself that would never happen here in America! Don’t be so sure! They have already told you that grown men can go to the restroom with your little girls. They are telling you now, where you can and can’t go. All in the name of safety. What is a Saint who is “Apostolic & Sold Out” supposed to do?

We Need Prayer

Well, we follow Daniel’s example. We fall to our knees and plead out to God! Notice the dishonest, jealous leaders tried to take Daniel down by getting him to stop praying. Daniel knew that if he stopped praying, he would have already failed. Church, Daniel’s, and our strength and success come from a close relationship with God.

They are riots in our streets because the Apostolic Church has failed to pray. We’re too busy to pray! We have allowed ourselves to be silenced because we’ve been pressured into this politically correct nonsense. No more praying in school nor at graduation. No praying before sporting events. What are we Apostolics to do? I may get in trouble here, but I think we go right into the lion’s den and pray! If you are true Apostolic & Sold Out IT’S TIME TO HIT YOUR KNEES AND PRAY IN AMERICA.

It’s time to stand up Apostolics. Satan wants you to stop praying. The reason being, he knows that is where the power comes from. Answer me this, do you even get on your knees once a day to pray? Church, I am challenging you to get radical about your prayer life. It is time for us to be Apostolic & Sold Outfor Jesus!

Prayer-Make America Great Again

The reason America is in the shape that it is in is that she is looking for some politician to bring “hope and change” or “to make America great again!” Let me tell you something, Beelzebub doesn’t want you to have a successful Christian family, marriage, business, reputation…or whatever. The only way that America will ever solve its problems is on our knees in prayer.

DANIEL, HE SAID “NO” TO A GOVERNMENT-ISSUED ORDER THAT WENT AGAINST HIS RELIGIOUS BELIEFS…AND THEY THREW HIM INTO THE LION’S DEN. Is your prayer life to the point where you are so full of Jesus that you’ll do the right thing no matter what? Apostolics it’s time to stand up and roar. It’s time that we become Apostolic & Sold Out!

Compromise No #4

The number 4 compromise on the Outspoken Apostolic’s list to keep us from satanic compromise is Jesus. He said “NO” to the religious leaders who wanted Him to preach a more socially acceptable Gospel.

With thousands and thousands coming to hear Jesus preach, I wonder how popular He would have been if He preached a sugar-coated message like we hear today? I wonder how popular He would be if He was here preaching today on this “PowerCast”? Do you guys remember WWJD?

What would Jesus do? Jesus was just too extreme. He was always speaking about hell. Calling people out for their sins. Calling religious leaders hypocrites. They picked Him apart for befriending sinners. I mean come on, the high and mighty so-called religious leaders were upset with Him for healing on the Sabbath. Jesus preached that you didn’t have to follow a bunch of religious cans and can’t just have a relationship with the Almighty! For saying, He was the Son of God. For forgiving people’s sins.

Jesus, my friends was just too different for this nasty world. Too Outspoken, too straightforward, too controversial. He was always challenging the religious leaders to repent. And they wouldn’t have it! My Savior, my Friend, He was just unafraid to look you in the eye and call you out for your sinful ways.

Each of these characteristics is admirable. Saints, I understand that I am not perfect, but these are the characteristics that I, the “Outspoken Apostolic” want to display. This is the reason for calling myself the “Outspoken Apostolic”!

Compromise Just A Little?

Jesus had supernatural power. But if Judas or someone else could just get Him to sugar-coat His Message just a little. If only He would tone it down a bit. “Jesus, you need to listen to the P.C. crowd! You could have more respect for the adulterers and homosexuals. Jesus, compromise just a little on these issues, and everyone will love you. You could be popular and fill up this tabernacle if you will just tone it down a bit.”

We can not overlook this point Saints. There would have never been a cross! Church. No way would He tone it down. No crucifixion or No death nor resurrection. You and I friend are lost in our sins. I am so thankful that He is “Apostolic & Sold Out”! Jesus refuses temptation and can not be bought.

Jesus loves you and me so much that no one or nothing could stop Him from dying on the cross for our sins. He purchased our salvation because of His radical love. Apostolics, you want to be unstoppable in the eye of the Lord? You have to have a radical love for the lost, just as Jesus did. “The Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.”

NO VACANCY

If you truly love lost people, then you can not peddle a “socially acceptable” gospel. “You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.” Church, you will not find a NO VACANCY sign on the gates of hell. Broad is the way, everyone is welcome in hell! We are to be “Apostolic & Sold Out!” in reaching the lost! Because hell is real and eternity is a long time for our family, friends, and neighbors to be there. We must have a passion for those poor lost souls. We are “Apostolic & Sold Out!”

JESUS SAID “NO” WHEN THE RELIGIOUS LEADERS ASKED HIM TO PREACH A MORE SOCIALLY ACCEPTABLE GOSPEL…AND THEY CRUCIFIED HIM. Are you so full of Jesus that your heart burns with a passion for the lost? It’s time to take up your cross and follow Jesus… Let’s get “Apostolic & Sold Out!”

Compromise No #5

Our 5th and final compromise on the Outspoken Apostolic’s list to keep us from satanic compromise is our Jail House Rockers, Paul & Silas. They said “NO” to the evils of society.

Acts 16:16-19 Now as we were going to the place of prayer, a slave girl met us who had a spirit that enabled her to foretell the future by supernatural means. She brought her owners a great profit by fortune-telling. 17 She followed behind Paul and us and kept crying out, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who are proclaiming to you the way of salvation.” 18 She continued to do this for many days. But Paul became greatly annoyed, and turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her!” And it came out of her at once. 19 But when her owners saw their hope of profit was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace before the authorities.

Socially Acceptable

In the name of Jesus Christ, I command you to come out of her!” Instantly, Jesus set her free! She was a brand-new creature! But here comes society, and they are not happy with Paul and Silas. The slave girl’s masters went to the socially acceptable PC authorities. In turn, turned them over to a left-leaning court judge. He found Paul and Silas guilty of disturbing the peace and advocating unlawful customs. I mean come on guys, you can’t speak the Name of Jesus here. Stripped, beaten, whipped, and tossed into prison.

Our heroes being accustomed to this because they were “Apostolic & Sold Out! One of the hardest and most complicated things for us to handle as Apostolics is civil disobedience. The Bible teaches us to obey the laws of the land. We also know that we are to respect those in leadership and those that have authority over us. But they are laws and such that directly oppose the Word of God. How are we to respond when the laws and our leaders go against those beliefs? If I stand up and speak out, it may cause controversy. I’m tired of watching sin openly mock God and His Word!

Satanism

Be warned Apostolics. If you and I don’t stand up and start confronting all these demonic activities, we will lose our communities. I am not going political on you, because every city has demonic strongholds. But if the riots in America prove anything, it’s that the Democrat-dominated cities are being controlled by satanic forces.

All the abortion clinics. Satanism and things that have to do with the occult. Mediums, fortunetellers, psychics, palm readers. Drug dealers. Gangs. Pornography adult bookstores. Gambling casinos. Clubs for homosexuals and lesbians. All of these activities are evil. But as an Apostolic, if we step out in opposition against these atrocities we will find yourself in an all-out war!

Most of us just want to be left alone. We have no interest in making waves. No pastor or minister in their right mind wants negative publicity. So we bite our tongues and do nothing. But here is the problem with that line of thinking Church. It’s just like Edmund Burke said, “All that is necessary for evil to prosper is for good men to do nothing.”

I for one am tired of seeing the country that I love coward into the hands of Satan. The devil is having a field day with our marriages. I’m tired of watching him shred our families. I’m tired of all the sexual abuse and the human trafficking and drugs. Satan is throwing our babies into the garbage through abortion. Leading our kids to shoot their classmates. Church, it’s time to take a stand!

We’ve had enough!

I want to see people set free from the power of darkness. We need to pray that God will do something in our nation. I pray that God raises up a generation of Apostolics that will be Apostolic & Sold Out” in the Name of Jesus! It’s time that we Apostolics start standing up, looking evil in the eye, and confronting it in the Name of Jesus! Each of us needs to shout it from the rooftops “We’ve had enough! It’s time to do things God’s way again!” When Paul cast the demon out of the slave girl, he said to the world, “We care more about people being set free from sin than we do about our comfort and convenience.”

Brothers and sisters, if we can get enough Apostolics to live like that on Sand Mountain, we’ll see a revival that will shake this place! We can truly be Apostolic Mountain. Demons will start running! People set free! “Apostolic & Sold Out!” In the Name of Jesus!

I pray that it is time for God to come down here on Sand Mountain and shake this place! In the Name of Jesus! I pray that it is time for God to come down to your city, your mountain, and shake the place! Apostolic & Sold Out in the Name of Jesus!

Conclusion

If we are truly the Apostolic Church, it is time for us to “lay it all on the line.” Jesus wants us out of a place of complacency and “business as usual”! Get your full armor of God on Apostolics. It is time for us to get on the front lines! “Listen up devil! You can throw us in jail, throw us in the fiery furnace, or throw us in a den of hungry lions. You can strip us, beat us, whip us, and throw us into prison, but you can’t stop the Apostolic Church!

John Wesley — “Give me one hundred men who fear nothing but sin, and desire nothing but God, and I will shake the world.”
